UX design
The Problem
Many students also have jobs and other obligations in addition to school. I recognized that it would greatly streamline student’s lives to reduce the need for commuting and save time for the students if they were able to both study and take their exams online. For those on-the-go, the option to study flashcards on their phone helps them maximize their time and for those wanting to take and exam at home, this would allow them to do so.

Project Duration
October 2021- November 2021
The Goal

Design an app and responsive website that would allow flexibility for the students to both study and take exams on their phone or home computer.

My Role
Sole UX Designer leading the app and responsive website design from conception to delivery.
Responsibilities
Concept creation, research conducting interviews, paper and digital wireframing, low and high-fidelity prototyping, conducting usability studies, and important accessibility considerations through the process, iterating on designs.
I polled Instagram and other social media platforms to develop some interview questions, which I then used to conduct user interviews. Most interview participants reported feeling stressed about having enough time in their busy day to really focus on studying and exams. The feedback received from research made it clear that students would be more than willing to try and easy-to-use online solution.

Alexander

Problem Statement:

Alexander is a busy fashion school student who needs a way to take his exams online because he doesn't have a car to get to campus and this would relieve a lot of extra stress and time constraint issues for him.

Rebecca

Problem Statement:

Rebecca is a mom as well as a fashion school student who needs a way to study wherever she is for her exams because that way she doesn't need to carry her textbooks or flashcards everywhere while also trying to squeeze in driving time constrains with her busy lifestyle.

                                                                                                      Competitive Audit

I completed an audit of my competitors in order to identify any gaps in the market for the product to address.

I did a quick ideation exercise to come up with some ideas on how to address the user needs and gaps which i had earlier identified in the competitive audit.

                                                                                Sitemap

During the process of ideation, I wanted to keep in mind that this would also be utilized in my responsive website. I created a sitemap to help guide the organizational structure of each screen's design. This helped to ensure that the look and feel would be cohesive across devices.

I worked with the wireframes to create a prototype that had the approximate flow to help resolve the user pain points.

Low-Fidelity Prototype

The high-Fidelity prototype followed the same user flow as the low-fidelity prototype but with the design changes that I implemented after the usability study.

Hi-Fi Prototype

                                                        Refining the design

As I continues to iterate, things became more cohesive.
